Spring

The new call SPRING opens the doors of Oriente Occidente to choreographers and companies one or more new artistic projects on the theme of travel and identity.

The project is created in collaboration with Gaia Clotilde Chernetich, dramaturg and dance researcher, with the aim of developing new projects by supporting the artistic creation thanks to the constant tutoring of a team of experts who will be contacted and selected according to the needs of individual projects, thus creating customized paths.

The winners will have two weeks of artistic residencce in the spaces of Oriente Occidente in Rovereto and economic support and coverage of housing costs during the period of residence.

The artistic residencies are scheduled in the first two weeks of April (1 - 15 April) 2022.

In continuity with the investigation that Oriente Occidente undertook last year, the choreographic projects presented should investigate one or more of the following themes:

• the transmission and preservation of collective cultural and artistic memories

• the relationship between individual and collective in the processes of identity construction

• the process of identity construction starting from non-familiar contexts

The evaluation of the projects is carried out by a commission composed by the artistic director of Oriente Occidente Lanfranco Cis, by the dramaturg Gaia Clotilde Chernetich and by Denis Isaia, responsible for the contemporary art sector of Mart, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto. The commission identifies some projects that will pass to a second selection phase in which there will be an interview.

The creation of tutorials suited to individual projects is possible thanks to a network with various cultural institutions of the city and the territory, both provincial and national.
