Creature Selvagge. Il mondo di domani

Performing Arts Lab
Oct 01 2023

What will the world look like tomorrow?
Let's join forces, thoughts, art and work together to figure it out!

Creature selvagge (wild creatures): it's time to move on and discover the world around us and the people who populate it. And then let's change it.

About the project

Creature Selvagge. Il mondo di domani (Wild creatures. The World of Tomorrow) is a new performing arts lab on the relationship between people and the environment through the language of theatre, dance, music and arts in general. The project comes as sequel to Creature selvagge.

It's a clear urgency of out time to directly involve the new generations in thinking of new ways, times and spaces for the common wellbeing , in the search for a new balance between human beings and nature.

We can live well only if we maintain an open space towards others, if we take care of them, if we allow ourselves to be surprised by unexpected encounters, if we create connections with people, creatures, times, places, issues.

Today, more than ever, it is necessary to introduce new logics in order to continue inhabit our planet. We have to be able to cooperate with biological processes and our surrounding the environment and stop acting against them.

It seems equally necessary to start constructive dialogues between different generations in a positive way, to highlight the possibilities and potential of the future without forgetting the damage caused by our way of living as it has been until now.

Wild creatures (Creature Selvagge) are hybrid creatures, part human and part animal, living creatures that have new awareness and great sensitivity.

This performing arts lab is first and foremost an exercise of identification, a constant attempt to be something beyond one's own individuality, an empathic movement towards other living beings, a profound understanding of the other's point of view.

The lab is curated by Andrea Santantonio and Nadia Casamassima - IAC Integrated Arts Centre in collaboration with Morgana Furlani - Sharing TN and Mattia Benuzzi - CDM.

IAC Centro Arti Integrate

IAC has been involved in theatre promotion and production since 2010 in a space located in Matera and was born from the desire to meet, listen and look.

The proposed courses are characterised by a collaborative working method in which everyone can find the right space to practise their aptitudes and skills. They combine artistic quality with a focus on social issues: experimenting, learning, exchanging, including, and being part of a collective process are the themes that unite the projects.
