A haunting hand-to-hand fight. A relationship that becomes manipulation. A living body that empties itself of its emotional weight and becomes corpse.
All around a living, distracted city. The future, which, on closer inspection, does not look welcoming. Progress that has made us distant, unable to “feel” the other.
The urban dance of The Ranch is Empty, inspired by photographer Sebastião Salgado's pictures of migrants' journeys, unsettles us and asks us questions: who are we leaving behind in our journey towards the future? How indifferent have we become?
To individualism for survival, however, there is an alternative: the encounter with the other, with tenderness, with those who remind us of where we come from and where we are going.
Participants in the workshop for dance and theatre enthusiasts led by Natalia Vallebona and Faustino Blanchut in Rovereto are also involved in the performance.
In collaboration with Compagnia Abbondanza/Bertoni.
Natalia Vallebona's work breaks the mould: the body - the extreme raw material and vehicle of a truly wild expressiveness - dominates. Her distinctive characteristic consists precisely in this physical-expressive power: sophisticated, strong and bewitching.
