Sound of X

The video art exhibition Sound of X presents video soundscapes by artists from China, Germany, Indonesia, Philippines and Viet Nam who share experiences of their cities through sound. The project was initiated by the Goethe-Institut as an international digital programme inviting artists to capture their hometown in a short video, without words, solely on the basis of sounds and local acoustics that are condensed into a musical work.

Since its first edition in 2020, just before the coronavirus crisis struck, the project has grown through artistic contributions from all over the world.
