Equality between women and men must be ensured in all areas, including employment, work and pay.

- Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union

Oriente Occidente has chosen to adopt a series of Guidelines for gender equality to reduce the gender gap and to measure, evaluate and monitor diversity data annually, with the aim of filling any gaps, providing a dedicated budget for this purpose.

Opportunities for growth and inclusion of women in the company, equal pay by gender, protection of maternity and paternity, prevention of discrimination and harassment at work: these are the areas that are considered most critical and therefore on which to focus attention.

In particular, the Board of Directors of Oriente Occidente has committed to:

  • adopt tools to prevent any form of gender discrimination and to combat any act that is harmful to the dignity of staff;

  • valorise diversity in every corporate process: from the search and selection of human resources to access to training, from the definition of remuneration policies to the evaluation of performance and the attribution of reward systems, from the selection of those who provide services or supply products;

  • support the family welfare of its employees through working methods (part time and flexible working hours) that promote the conciliation between professional activity and private life;

  • promote training, awareness-raising and staff engagement actions on the issues of equal opportunities and female empowerment, combating gender stereotypes, preventing discrimination and harassment, inclusive language and promoting the visibility of women's contributions;

  • create an inclusive, collaborative, supportive, transparent and open-listening work environment for all staff;

  • ensure gender pay equity, facilitating the participation and retention of women in the workplace;

  • ensure equal opportunities in the development of skills and the application of individual talents,

  • promote communication, including through marketing and advertising activities, that transparently declares the desire to achieve gender equality and enhance diversity and support female empowerment.

Here you can consult the full document that clarifies the Policy for Gender Equality, addressed to all internal staff and those who collaborate and shared with our main stakeholders.

A Steering Committee has also been established – composed of Anna Consolati, Franco Broccardi, Francesca Manfrini – which has among its objectives the prevention of discrimination and harassment at work.

For each person who works, collaborates or enters into a relationship with Oriente Occidente, it is possible to send reports of violations of the principles of the Policy for Gender Equality by sending an email to comitatoguidapdg@orienteoccidente.it

The Steering Committee will be responsible for the direct and immediate management of any reports.
